| Dear Kelly, My prayers are with you. My dad was just diagnosed with ALS last Friday and I am sitting here crying writing this email. I am shocked, devestated and sick within. Dad and mom live in Florida and I live with my husband and children in NJ. Dad is going to be 75 and has always been such a healthy, full of life dad. I am also having such a hard time accepting his illness. Dad will be going to an ALS Center in Miami for further evaluation. Please be sure your mom is evaluated at an ALS center. I am in the pharmaceutical industry and have found there are neurologists who have no understanding of ALS. Therefore, you want the best for mom and she needs to see an ALS specialty doctor. May the Lord bless you and keep you strong. I pray your mom and my dad do not suffer and they find strength in Christ and beat this disease. A cure will happen. Blessing to you, Debbie Wewer |
