from the dept. My mother was diagnosed with bulbar onset ALS. Your story is very touching and brings tears to my eyes. My mother was diagnosed Dec 27, 2003 with the bulbar onset ALS. Her breathing is now at 64% and the doctors want to get her on a feeding tube soon. She still has mobility but no talking, trouble breathing, swallowing, etc. I am amazed at how fast this disease progresses and strikes down amazing people in their prime. My prayers are with all victims and families of ALS.
